           In the article, "An Open Letter to Ninth Graders" By Patrick Sullivan explains that he wants to offer his advice and encouragement to prepare high school students for the transition into college. Sullivan says that "there is a lot you can do on your own to get ready for college" and that students need to take it into their own hands to strengthen their skills for a successful college experience. We agreed with the author's point when he says that reading and writing are both fundamental skills to succeed, however we believe that you can still succeed in college even if you don't like to read.

    Note: when using "however" as a conjunctive adverb, separate it with a semi-colon: ....skills to succeed; however, we believe...
