20 Time: First Impressions

20 Time seems like a well thought out idea, especially at first, but it seems it could easily be taken over by lack of time, and work. If you assume that students wont have work they need to get done, the idea is great. It allows students to have time to work on their own things, an opportunity that no other class provides. I am afraid that 20 Time may sacrifice time in which assigned work could have been done. If you set aside the inherit risks and know them, 20 Time is a great time for students. This time could inspire students to do better, get them do create something, or inspire a whole new train of thought. As long as 20 Time is around I hope it never gets in the way.

  1. I can see where your worries are coming from, Hadden. Having the freedom to work on a project of your choosing can seem a bit daunting at first. However, I think that you’ll find that the skills you will use to research, write, present, and develop your project will be helpful to you in other classes as well. And, as long as you are learning something, your time will not be wasted!
