Open Letter to 9th Graders Response

The author’s reason for writing this is that he teaches at college and sees too many students who don’t have the necessary skills to be successful in college. He wants to help us prepare for college and be ready to get the most out of our college experience. He is telling us what skills we need to develop for college, whether it's reading, writing, listening, studying, or working skills. Building relationships, challenging yourself, and putting effort into learning are things we all agree on, along with the author. However, we all disagree when the author says you need to like reading to be ready for college. We believe that as long as you read when you should, and maybe more, and work through it to learn what's needed from it, you can still understand the class/book.
