To inform freshman, and high school newbies, on how to prepare for college through high school. The author’s main point in addition to having good academic skills, such as reading and writing, an incoming college student must also be emotionally ready, and being able to think and listen with the correct level of maturity. We agree with strong reading and writing skills, and the willingness to learn, also maturity. We disagree the fact that they have to enjoy reading to succeed. It is better to enjoy it, but not necessary for achievement.
